RURAL HOUSING UPDATES:

USDA Rural Housing has announced they will continue to accept and process new application packages. And as done in past years, if funds run out they will issue loan approvals with the following verbiage "Subject to availability of funds and Congressional authority to charge a 3.5% guarantee fee for purchase loans". With this verbiage in the approvals, we are still able to close these loans. Now the downside is the Funding Fee has gone from 2% to 3.5% now. And this goes into affect on all loans that have not already been approved by the Rural Housing office. So any loans in process now or just pre-approved now, will have the higher funding fee %.
