Susan Sale is a highly experienced marketing professional with a strong track record of successfully leading and executing comprehensive marketing communications and growth strategies for a wide variety of public and private enterprises throughout the Carolinas.

Most recently she served nine years as Economic Development Director for the City of Camden, and Tourism Development Director for the City of Camden and Kershaw County.

In economic development initiatives she spearheaded the redevelopment and reopening of Camden’s largest shopping centers, increasing the tax base value at $3 million to more than $13+ million in four years. She also helped local hotel owners to expand their offerings including the opening of Hampton Inn; and worked with regional hotel developers in securing a new downtown boutique hotel – the Haigler – which, currently under development, valued at $15+ million.

Previous affiliations include roles as Vice President of Corporate Marketing & Communications for EDENS, one of the nation’s leading private owners, operators and developers of retail real estate; and with her own company she led the marketing, advertising and public relations activities surrounding the grand opening of the Village at Sandhill, in northeast Columbia.

A South Carolina native, Sale is intimately familiar with and passionate about the growth, development and protection of the region’s unique natural and cultural assets. The previous owner and operator of The Camden House Bed & Breakfast Inn- 1502 Broad Street, Sale is an avid back roads traveler, SC heritage protectionist and historic preservation activist.
